Carmichael has an elevation of 125 ft., is 17 square miles, has a zip code population of 72,000, has one of only two regional libraries in Sacramento County, a trauma center, Mercy San Juan Medical Center, is home to one of the top school districts in the state, San Juan Unified School District, has a 320 acre public golf course, the Effie Yeaw Nature Center, two excellent park districts, and a small business community consisting of retail, professional and service businesses.
Carmichael is a suburb of Sacramento and is unincorporated (not a city). We are part of Sacramento County and governed by a Board of Supervisors. Virginia Stone is Carmichael's 2015 Honorary Mayor. She is serving her second term. Virginia Stone is employed by Oakmont of Carmichael Senior Living, where she helps educate seniors and their families on senior living options. Virginia has over 30 years of experience in sales, marketing and business development. Her strengths in leadership, organization and communication have helped her to fulfill her role well as Carmichael's mayor. Virginia has been a member of the Carmichael Chamber since 2008. As mayor, Virginia is involved various community activities including speaking, ribbon cuttings and issuing proclamations.
Virginia and her husband Brad have lived in Carmichael for over 30 years. They have two sons. "It is my goal to continue to make Carmichael the the nicest place to live, work and have fun."
