The district
employs 20 full-time employees and more than 200 temporary and part-time
employees throughout the year and provides a variety of youth and adult
recreation job opportunities every season.
The district consists of 16 park sites totaling 200 acres. One hundred of
these acres remain undeveloped and are being preserved as open space for

Map. Carmichael Park and the La
Sierra Community Center are the district's two main facilities.
Carmichael Park includes 38 acres located in the heart of
Carmichael at the corner of Fair Oaks Boulevard and Grant Avenue. It has a
variety of facilities including ball fields, playgrounds, tennis courts,
swimming pool, band shell, group picnic area, district administrative
offices and clubhouse with meeting rooms and community hall.
The La Sierra Community Center has a large community hall
used for many community events such as wedding receptions,
parties, crab feeds, dances, art shows, coin shows, and town hall
meetings. The center also has community meeting rooms, two
gymnasiums, a gymnastics center and is home for the Sacramento
Fine Arts Center, Chautauqua Playhouse and Sacramento County
Sheriff's Toy Project.
Located in the open space is the Carmichael Little
League Complex with six ball fields and a snack bar. The three
soccer fields are used by various community soccer groups and
clubs.
The district is always interested in how to better

Providing
services to approximately 65,000 residents in the Arden Arcade community,
the district has 12 full-time staff which is supplemented by more than 100
part-time, temporary and volunteer personnel.
There
are 16 parks encompassing 102 acres, including the 17-1/2 acre Gibbons
Park which is home to the senior citizen/community center. Mission Oaks
provides a multitude of recreation services and programs for all ages. The
advisory board meets the first Tuesday of the month at the district
office, and the public is encouraged to attend.
