Diana Shockley - I Love Pie
CHARITY: Carmichael Parks Foundation

I'm the owner of I Love Pie Bakeshop, an artisan pie shop in Carmichael, CA. I worked in the corporate world for most of my career and baked at home as a hobby. I opened an at-home bakery and sold my product on the weekends as a pop-up bakery. Meanwhile Mon-Fri I was a project manager for Sutter Health. About a year and a half later I combined my business experience with baking and voila! I opened a brick and mortar bakery (Aug. 2019). My first pop-up was at Carmichael Park at the Carmichael Park Farmers Market. I spent many weekends running my booth, selling my pies and sitting on the grass making friends with other vendors and my customers. This is why supporting the Carmichael Parks Foundation was a no brainer for me to choose as my non-profit for my campaign for honorary mayor.

CHARITY: Adopt-an-Elder Foundation

“Hello friends! I’m running for honorary mayor of Carmichael because I love our cozy community... a little about me: Returned Peace Corps Volunteer (Kazakhstan), Director of Communications for Sanctuary Hopspice and Tkmomentum, published author, avid tennis player and painter. I also enjoy early morning walks through the Effie Yaw Nature Center, one of the many reasons I’m proud to say Carmichael has been home for me. Because 95608 has so many wonderful elderly residents, that is why I’m raising funds for the “Adopt-an-Elder” Foundation-which is an all-volunteer non-profit subsidy program offering assistance to low-income elders in the greater Sacramento area who cannot afford alternative care options. Some low-income, frail elderly residents are being diverted into skilled nursing facilities prematurely due to the shortfall of a few hundred dollars per month that would afford them assisted living options. This program provides the funds that help fill that gap so that seniors can afford a more independent, dignified lifestyle in a home-like environment.  Any amount is helpful and extremely appreciated. “

Izzy DeLancey: 2021 Honorary Mayor of Carmichael
Picture
Realtor Trillium Real Estate
Izzy has been a resident of Carmichael since 1960. She comes from a large family of 9 nine children.
Carmichael offered much for her active family and still does today. There were more horses riding down California Ave then bicycles back in the day. Izzy often saddled up the family's one horse and rode to Ancil Hoffman Park where she met other friends and they would trot and gallop along the 3 mile walking path. During the summer, floating down the American River from the Fair Oaks Bridge to Ancil Hoffman park was a huge past time for her family and friends. Carmichael Library was the resource for their homework, the only difference, there was no Google or Alexa search engines, we used World Book and Britannica encyclopedias as our search engines. The Carmichael Library is a great source for the community and is still a part of my life for my own grandchildren.
Izzy went to school locally, attending Our Lady of Assumption, La Sierra High School and American River College.
Many thanks to the Carmichael Parks & Recreation for offering girls fast pitch softball. Our family filled the baseballs fields many a Saturday and it still continues today.

Golfing is a hobby of Izzy’s and no place better than Ancil Hoffman Golf Course. Effie Yeaw is another
past time for Izzy and her grandchildren. Izzy loves Sushi and can be found every Tuesday at Silver Sake Restaurant. Besides golfing and sushi, Izzy loves spending time with her family. Izzy is also very involved with the Sacramento Association of Realtor's as Committee Chair of Regional meetings.
In 1979, Izzy moved to Texas and was employed with Braniff Airlines and began flying around the US. In 1993, Izzy owned a company called Hair Products of Texas,  a hair care distribution company .She had a staff of 120 employees and had the rights to two states; New Mexico and Texas. Izzy remained in Texas 20 years, then in 1999 decided to move back home to Carmichael. Izzy is a Realtor at Trillium Real Estate, following a passion to help families and friends with home buying dreams, assisting in the transition of selling homes in some cases for the final move to assisted living.

Izzy has been married to her husband Jeff since 2016. Together they have 5 grandchildren she loves spending time with.
When Izzy decided to run for 2020 Honorary Mayor, she couldn't think of a more honorable thing to do, then to give back to a community that gave her so much as a child.

Izzy selected the H2LOC (How to Love Our Cops) non-profit organization. Sometimes it seems  the entire world is against police officers and by extension their families. Saturation of a mad, bad and sad career culture is overwhelming. Injury, death, and the emotional toll become a reality in their lives. H2LOC aims to be positive in the midst of trouble.  The H2LOC is about learning, keeping up with the latest research and listening to the hearts and thoughts of the law enforcement families across the US, Canada and beyond.
